Economic Competitiveness

“A 10-year strategy for economic development is necessary and exciting,” said Abby Smith, President & CEO of Team Pennsylvania. “Pennsylvania has significant opportunities to strengthen its competitiveness, starting by getting clear about our priority sectors and the Commonwealth’s strength. This focus is energizing for local and regional partners from industry, the public sector, the network of economic development entities, academia, and labor to know that the state sees opportunities to accelerate in these key areas.”

Economic Development Plan 2024

On January 30, 2024, Governor Josh Shapiro and DCED Secretary Rick Siger unveiled the first economic development plan Pennsylvania has had in two decades. Team PA applauds this important first step. We see great alignment with our work and with the plan as the Commonwealth considers the important role the public sector plays in driving innovation and economic advancement.
