Team Pennsylvania Welcomes New Public-Sector Co-Chair and Board Directors

Team Pennsylvania is proud to welcome Governor Josh Shapiro as Team Pennsylvania’s new Public-Sector Co-Chair. Governor Shapiro was sworn in on January 17, 2023, as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s 48th Governor. Governor Shapiro will serve as Team Pennsylvania’s sixth Public Sector Co-Chair.

Since the organization’s inception in 1997, and in true public-private partnership, the sitting governor has served as Team Pennsylvania’s Public-Sector Co-Chair. They preside over the Board of Directors in partnership with a Private-Sector Co-Chair, who is a chairman, president or chief executive officer of a business with principal place of business within the commonwealth’s geographic boundaries. Team Pennsylvania’s current Private Sector Co-Chair is Brian Jackson, Chairman, McNees Wallace & Nurick.

With Governor Shapiro’s administration in full swing, Team Pennsylvania also welcomes three new and one returning Board Director:

  • Acting Secretary Rick Siger – Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED)
  • Acting Secretary Nancy Walker – Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry
  • Acting Secretary Russell Redding – Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture
  • Acting Secretary Khalid Mumin – Pennsylvania Department of Education

According to Team Pennsylvania’s Organizational Bylaws, the sitting Secretary of the Departments of Community and Economic Devleopment, Labor and Industry, Agriculture, and Education serve on the Board of Directors.

Team Pennsylvania is excited to work with this new group of leaders as it continues toward a shared goal of increasing the momentum of Pennsylvania’s economy for every commonwealth resident.
