Pennsylvania Embarks On Business Development Mission to China & Korea

Pennsylvania’s Office of International Business Development (OIBD) has partnered with Team Pennsylvania to embark on a business development mission to China and Korea. The Pennsylvania delegation – comprised of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) experts from OIBD, the City of Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley EDC and Chester County EDC – will travel in tandem with the Philadelphia Orchestra to key cities including Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul. This is the third year that Pennsylvania has partnered with the Philadelphia Orchestra, previously travelling to Europe in 2015 and Japan in 2016.

The Pennsylvania delegation will follow a similar travel schedule to the orchestra, and will begin their trip in China and continue on to Korea. Throughout their travels, representatives from Pennsylvania’s FDI team will host and attend meetings focused on investment retention and attraction efforts with prospects, investors and multipliers.

As one of the most traveled American Orchestras, the Philadelphia Orchestra proudly embraces its role as cultural ambassadors and fosters international goodwill and positive international relations on behalf of the commonwealth. The unique partnership between the commonwealth and the Philadelphia Orchestra allows the delegation to continue to carry their conversations with prospects and multipliers into the evening, through ambassador receptions and orchestra performances.
