High Construction, Greenfield Architects to design and build processing facility for Citterio USA

High Construction Company today announced that it was selected as the design-builder for a new processing facility for Citterio USA.

Citterio USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Giuseppe CITTERIO Salumificio, SpA of Milano, Italy—one of the oldest and largest family owned businesses in the Italian Specialty Meat Sector.

The new 95,550 square foot facility will be built on Citterio’s current campus located in Freeland, Luzerne County, Pa. It will be completed in three phases. Site work began in September and construction will wrap up in October 2015.

Designed by Greenfield Architects Ltd., the new facility will provide additional space for producing the company’s Italian specialty meats.

High Construction and Greenfield Architects have collaborated on more than 175 projects, most recently including Quality Bicycle Parts’ office and distribution center currently under construction in Lancaster, Pa.; TownPlace Suites under construction in Mechanisburg Pa.; a new office for Cabot Oil & Gas in Montrose, Pa.; a new performing arts center for Messiah College in Mechanisburg, Pa.; and Bentley Ridge apartment community’s expansion in Lancaster, Pa.
